Alternative Methods to Delete Account & Data
If you prefer to delete your account directly inside the Android app or revoke access from Google Security:
Delete via MediaRelay Android App
If you have the MediaRelay app on your Android handset:
- Open MediaRelay on your phone.
- Go to Settings → About → Delete account & data.
- Tap Sign Out to wipe local OAuth tokens.
- To clear local databases: Android Settings → Apps → MediaRelay → Clear Storage.
Revoke from Google Account Security
Cut off all application access directly at the Google infrastructure level:
- Visit Google Third-Party Apps & Services.
- Select MediaRelay.
- Click Delete all connections that you have with MediaRelay.
- Google immediately invalidates all OAuth access and refresh tokens.
What Data Is Deleted vs. Retained
Under Google Play's User Data policy and global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), below is a transparent breakdown of what is erased when you delete your MediaRelay account:
Data That Is Permanently Deleted
- • Firebase Authentication Identity: Your user profile ID, registered email address, and authentication tokens.
- • MediaMemory™ Cloud Ledger: All cryptographic SHA-256 media fingerprint hashes recorded in Firestore to avoid duplicates.
- • Device Registry & History: Device hardware IDs, backup session logs, audit trails, and sync timestamps.
- • Storage Destinations: Configured Google Photos destinations, custom nickname labels, and category routing rules.
- • Local Device Database (upon app clear/uninstall): Room database caching local file URIs and local backup records.
Data That Remains Safe & Untouched
- • Photos & Videos in Google Photos: Any media previously backed up remains safely stored in your Google Photos library. MediaRelay does NOT delete user photos from Google Photos. You can manage or delete them directly at photos.google.com.
- • Local Files on Your Android Phone: Files located in WhatsApp media folders or your camera roll are never deleted or affected by account deletion.
- • Zero Third-Party Data: Because MediaRelay never sells, shares, or transfers your data to data brokers or advertisers, there is no third-party data to retract.
