1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the MediaRelay Android application ("Application") or the MediaRelay website ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use the Application or Website.
2. Description of Service
MediaRelay is an Android application designed to facilitate user-directed media routing and backup from local device storage directories (such as WhatsApp media folders) to designated Google Photos accounts using Google Photos REST APIs. MediaRelay does not provide cloud storage itself; storage is provided by Google LLC under your separate Google account agreement.
3. User Responsibilities & Account Security
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring that you have the right and authorization to access and upload all media processed by the Application.
- Maintaining sufficient storage capacity in your connected Google Account(s).
- Maintaining the security of your device, credentials, and Google account authorizations.
- Reviewing all files prior to confirming any local storage cleanup or deletion action.
4. Verification Principle & Safe Storage Cleanup
MediaRelay employs cryptographic SHA-256 fingerprinting and remote Google Photos Media ID confirmation before marking any media item as backed up. MediaRelay will never automatically delete media files from your device without your explicit in-app confirmation and Android system dialog consent. While MediaRelay takes every reasonable technical measure to ensure backup integrity, you acknowledge that you retain final control over local file deletion.
5. Third-Party Services & API Limits
The Application interacts with third-party services, including Google Photos APIs and WhatsApp. MediaRelay is an independent application and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or certified by Google LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.
Your use of Google Photos is subject to the Google Terms of Service and Google Photos storage quotas. Google reserves the right to rate-limit API calls or modify API availability according to its developer policies.
6. Intellectual Property & License
MediaRelay grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application on Android devices owned or controlled by you for personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these Terms. You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights to all photos, videos, and media files processed through the Application.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MEDIARELAY OR ITS DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR MEDIA, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APPLICATION.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the Application after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
